Birth Doula Services
I support families within a 1-hour radius of White Lake, Michigan (48383), and have personal and professional experience in both hospital birth and homebirth settings.
Please note: If you are located outside my typical geographical range of service, please contact me. We can mutually decide if I am still an option to support you, or I may be able to recommend someone more local to you who can.

Initial Meeting
At our free initial meeting, we can discuss your concerns, explore any questions you may have, and get to know eachother. I will provide you with a contract outlining my business practices, which you can look over at your convenience and return to me with the deposit fee if you decide I would be a good addition to your birth support team.
Prenatal Visit
We will then schedule your prenatal visit. During our visit we will get to know one another further and prepare for your birth. We will discuss your preferences for support during birth, comfort measures, medication, interventions, and any goals or barriers you may be anticipating for your birthing time. If desired, we will review positions that can be used during your birthing time, discuss your written birth wishes, and also your postpartum expectations.
Availability
I am always accessible by email, phone, and text message for any questions that arise.
I will be on-call for you from 38 weeks to 42 weeks (2 weeks before and 2 weeks after your due date). Should your birth fall outside of this window of time, I will make every effort to be available to you. In the rare event that I am unable to attend your birth, a back-up doula will be provided.
During Your Birth
During your birthing time, I will stay in contact until you are ready for me to meet you at your home, birth center, or hospital. I will provide continuous physical and emotional support throughout your birthing time and recovery. I will be sensitive to the preferences and needs of you and your partner (if applicable). I will remind you of your wishes and provide information so that you can make informed decisions, but I will not make decisions for you. I bring with me a wide range of knowledge and resources to assist you with your birth. I will provide help with breathing and relaxation, massage, position suggestions, encouragement, support for partner (if applicable), and reassurance of normalcy (if desired).
After your birth, I will stay for 1–2 hours and assist with bonding and establishing breastfeeding, if needed.
Postpartum Visit
This visit is optional. At your postpartum visit we can discuss the events of your birth and address concerns you may be having postpartum.
My Birth Doula Fees
My fee for doula services is $900 (if paid cash/check; $930 if paid online), with 50% downpayment at the time the contract is signed so that I may hold your spot on my calendar. The remaining fee is expected when you reach 36 weeks.
Please keep in mind that you may, depending on your medical insurance carrier, be able to submit for reimbursement for my services or use funds from your HSA/flex-spending accounts.
I try to be flexible with payment timelines and taking your individual family into account. If you feel you have a special consideration, please contact me so we may discuss your situation further. Please keep in mind that my work as a doula is the primary means by which I provide for my own family, and that there is value in what I do. It is my sincere hope that at the end of our time together my doula families feel that the resources they set aside for me were resources well-spent.
If you are interested in seeing if you qualify for free or low-cost doula care, please contact Michigan Doula Connection, a local organization that may be able to assist you better!
